The Authority of Regulation of Cotton and Cashew nut (ARECA) is a company of State created by the decree n° 2002-449 of September 16 2002 within the framework of the setting in places from there structures of regulation and management of the agricultural dies charged to take over State, pursuant to its policy of disengagement.
Cotton and the cashew nut being cultivated in the same geographical area and practically by the same populations, the Government chose to entrust their management to a common structure.
Site ARECA is a window on outside to present the two dies cotton and cashew nut which constitute our field of action. For that, it is before a whole instrument of direct information that we committed ourselves bringing up to date in real time. It aims at serving general public, the researchers and students, the bodies of communication; simply all those which seek information on the dies cotton and cashew nut in Côte.d'ivoire.
In its design, the site comprises a historical part, inevitably invariable, which points out the introduction and the starting of these productions, their evolution until now, follow-up of an inventory of fixtures as for the organization, the identification of the various activities and the operators. Mitres being able to be open simultaneously make it possible to directly obtain additional technical information, which one is often obliged to go to seek on specialized sites, history to save time and to supplement general knowledge! This information relates for example to the agronomic characteristics of these cultures, the process of transformation and finished products etc
Follow the parts specific to each of the two dies taken to one and devoted to the presentation of the current organization of the production, marketing, transformation and regulation of the exercise of these activities.
It is a first experiment which wants to fill a vacuum as regards fast diffusion of information to give access to data available but often difficult to gather on the level of those which hold them. Our commitment to be able to hold this challenge of the actualization of the data, the coherence and the credibility of information which is provided to us or which we collect near all the sources. It is a bet which we want to take with you through your observations, your criticisms and your requests to also measure our capacity of reaction.
The ARECA is thus charged with installing the lawful and contractual framework having to govern the operation of the two dies. It also has the role of taking care of the compliance with the rules by the various colleges of operators and of the application of the sanctions to the contraveners.
In a specific way, the ARECA has as an aim:
* the exercise, on a purely exclusive basis, of the functions of regulation which are delegated to him by the State pursuant to article 18 of the ordinance n° 2002-448 of 16 September 2002 fixing cards it organisational dies cotton and cashew nut, in particular the instruction, the decision and the sanctions assigned as well as the provisions of decrees taken for its application;
* the study of project and processing of data relating to the dies cotton and cashew nut for valorization of the production, the transformation and the marketing of the products of these dies and to their evolution on the world market;
* the implementation of actions tending to the improvement of the management of the dies cotton and cashew nut and their adaptation to the international market trends;
* the support in the State in the application and the follow-up of the agreements and international arrangements.
